Our beers...
We're known for our beers; we have no Brewery Tie or Pub Company List of permitted beers. We can buy from anyone who approaches us, and this allows us to always have five draught ales and one traditional cider on the bar. We favour regional and micro brewers, and the choice seems to grow exponentially year on year.
We always keep Wadworth's 6X (delivered direct from the Brewery for 25 years), except at special events when it may briefly disappear. Our other beers change on a regular basis, and you'll always find something new. Favourites like Oakham JHB, Hopback Summer Lightning, Crouch Vale Brewers Gold and Timothy Taylor's Landlord return every few months as do any other beers that go well.
We support the local Tring Brewery (who brewed our 25th Anniversary Ale) and Vale Brewery; you will often see their own ales or others that they supply.
We normally keep two session bitters (3.4 - 4.0% abv), two best bitters (4.1 - 4.6% abv) and one strong ale (around 5% abv). At Christmas we have Tring Death or Glory 7.2% for the Festive season.
ALE TO GO & PARTIES
You can get our beers in take-away containers for any event; choose from 2 or 5 pint jugs for a night in, or an 18 or 36 pint polypin (bag-in-box-with-tap) for a party.
All beers on the bar are available while you wait from our cellar - no need to book in advance. If you want a particular beer we can usually get it within a week.
OUR CIDERS
Our regular ciders are Weston's, Thatcher's and Brothers. We also have Moles', Biddenden and Millwhites for special events.
OUR LAGERS & CONTINENTAL BEERS
We keep six draught lagers, including Budweiser Budvar, San Miguel and Amstel. Our bottled range includes Duvel, Chimay, Peroni and Beck's.
OUR WINES
Our wine list comprises both New World and Old World wines. By the glass we offer two reds, four whites and one rosé. All of these and others are also available by the bottle.
